Location and Parking

Texas Health Rockwall is located on Horizon Road just south of Ralph Hall Parkway.  Our hospital offers free parking on campus.  All parking is open to patients and visitors in front of the hospital.  The circular drive in front of the hospital is designated for patient drop off and pick up.  

Where to Check-in

All patients arriving for surgery or a procedure inside the hospital should check in at the front desk of the main lobby*.  There they will complete the registration process before being escorted to the waiting area.  *Patients receiving a procedure or diagnostic service in our Imaging Center or Women’s Imaging Center will check in at the appropriate lobby at 3136 Horizon Road.  Imaging Center is located in #140 and the Women’s Imaging Center in #150.

Admitting:  The Admitting Department provides a private setting where patients can meet with an admitting representative to review their personal and insurance information as well as to discuss what the patient may expect during their hospital stay. In addition, the admitting representative will present hospital consent forms and all regulatory information that requires the patient’s signature.

The Outpatient Admitting Department is open Monday – Friday (5:30 AM – 6:00 PM).

The Emergency Department Admitting is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

Your Personal Information

A hospital representative will ask you to complete and sign several forms. If you are unable to complete the forms, please choose a family member, next of kin or legal representative to help.

Hospital ID Bracelet

A hospital identification bracelet will be placed on your wrist when you arrive.

  • Wear this bracelet at all times.
  • The hospital ID bracelet with your name, date of birth and medical record number is our way of identifying you.
  • Hospital staff should check your ID bracelet and ask you for two patient identifiers before giving you medications and before tests, treatments or procedures begin.

Your Room

You will be assigned to a room staffed by nurses and a professional health care team. A state-of-the-art bed with a nurse call bell system is provided for your safety and comfort. Push the nurse call button if you need assistance. As a courtesy, personal care items will be provided for you when you arrive.

Introduction to Our Staff

Your professional health care team will introduce themselves to you.

  • The staff in charge of your stay will write their names on the board in your room.
  • Every worker at Texas Health Rockwall wears a badge that shows their picture and job title.
  • Each staff member will state his or her name and the reason that they have come into your room.

Quiet Time

Texas Health Rockwall understands the importance of rest to the recovery and healing of our patients and has designated daily Quiet Time from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.  During this time we will attempt to limit interruptions in patient rooms whenever possible and reduce noise in the hallways and corridors.  We will also encourage guests to conclude their visits or limit their conversations outside the patient room.

To signal Quiet Time hours a chime will sound and lighting in some areas will dim.  Noise reduction methods will be in place however, please know that all services and care will continue without hesitation.

For Your Safety

Be Involved in your care. To optimize results for a speedy recovery, play an active part in your own health care by washing your hands. Hand washing is the most important way to protect against infection in the hospital. Communication
