Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall is pleased to announce that William “Tom” Howard, B.S.N., R.N., MPH-EM, has been named one of DFW’s Great 100 Nurses. He was selected from many hundreds of nominees to receive this honor.
DFW Great 100 Nurses Inc. sponsors the Great 100 Nurses to honor registered nurses who demonstrate excellence in nursing. Nurses may be nominated by patients or peers for their caring role at the bedside, leadership qualities, community service and more. Nurses who are selected may be named to the list only once in their career. Tom, Manager of Emergency Services, has worked at Texas Health Rockwall for three years. His career includes 28 years in healthcare as a paramedic and a nurse as well as serving as the Mayor of Winnsboro.
“Tom is a great example of nursing,” said Tami Hawkins, RN, MSN, NEA-BC, Vice-President of Patient Care/Chief Nursing Officer. “The compassion and concern he shows his patients stands out to everyone who knows him. As a nurse he is one of the best and as a manager he leads by example - always ready for the challenging, unpredictable and fast pace of the ER.”
In total, 29 Texas Health nurses were included on the prestigious list – more than any other health care system in North Texas. The full list of Great 100 Nurse honorees can be found at www.dfwgreat100nurses.com/honorees/
The newest honorees were recognized as “Great 100 Nurses” at the annual gala on April 17 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas.
