Cardiopulmonary

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall provides technical, diagnostic, therapeutic and educational services directed toward assisting the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary disorders.

Pulmonary Function Testing (PFTs)

Pulmonary Function Tests evaluate how well your lungs work. PFTs are a group of tests that measure how well the lungs take in and release air and how well they move gases such as oxygen from the atmosphere into the body’s circulation. The tests can diagnose lung disease, measure the severity of lung problems and check to see how well treatment for a lung disease is working.

Our licensed respiratory therapists perform the PFTs on both an outpatient and inpatient basis and provide high-quality test results with accuracy and promptness.

PFTs help physicians determine treatment plans for patients with the following conditions:

  • COPD
  • Asthma
  • Emphysema
  • Bronchitis
  • Shortness of breath
